are you mirroring fusionio cards, or using a single card per server? i could see an argument either way.
RAID-0 across 2 cards in a server. That’s mainly for capacity. Since then larger cards are available so we probably wouldn’t need 2 per box.
Nice analysis (thanks for posting) … so is this all based on the FOSS MySQL? Also, would PHP help or hurt vs perl?
Language wouldn’t be a factor for this scenario, since we were so heavily io-bound.
I’ve been scratching my head trying to recall what the cause of the memcached degradation was from your talk. I’m about to reduce from 10x 16GB machines down to 6x 72GB machines and I’m worried I might get hit with the same issue you described. What exactly what the problem/solution you came across?
