A Post Per Day in 2011

I’ve recently become annoyed at myself for not making time to blog more. It’s so easy to get distracted by other things or just waste time. The reality is that I get a lot out of blogging, but I need to invest myself in actually doing it.

So my plan is to blog once a day in 2011. Given the ubiquity of blogging tools, I ought to be able to post something either here or on one of my experimental blogs.

This really isn’t a New Year’s Resolution, it’s just what I’m gonna do.

About Jeremy Zawodny

I'm a software engineer and pilot. I work at craigslist by day, hacking on various bits of back-end software and data systems. As a pilot, I fly a Flight Design CTSW and high performance gliders in the northern California and Nevada area. I'm also the original author of "High Performance MySQL" published by O'Reilly Media. I still speak at conferences and user groups on occasion.

  1. Been there. I’ve even succeeded for certain stretches at a time. It all depends on how thoughtful and in-depth you want your typical post to be.

I would like to offer a tip to avoid rapid blogging burnout: Commit to writing a blog post *every other* day. I find that it’s a lot more sustainable.

Good luck! I enjoy your blog output.

Hi Jeremy, I have a question for you… I have a huge website about to launch, and I need to find staff for every level of attention to its maintenance. I know that there have been layoffs at Yahoo, and wonder if you have any suggestions to let the body of people that have/currently work there that there are openings? Any suggestions for contacting would be appreciated. Many thanks, Janet (559) 936-0768
